Sri Lanka’s problem, according to International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, is the result of mismanagement.

Because it is the product of mismanagement, the most essential thing to accomplish now is to restore the country’s microeconomic stability.”
She stated that the International Monetary Fund will aggressively support Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring process, and that it will be accessible once the IMF has more information on the program’s framework and debt restructuring options.
She also expressed gratitude to India for being such a good friend to Sri Lanka and for advocating support for Sri Lanka in this very difficult time
