Justin Bieber says right side of his face is paralysed after virus attack, calls it ‘pretty serious’ condition

After a virus caused “complete paralysis” on one side of his face, Justin Bieber has canceled a number of gigs on his current tour.

After a virus destroyed the nerves in his ear, the Canadian popstar was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. In a video shared to his Instagram page, he stated he was dealing with a “very serious” situation.

The 28-year-old is presently on his Justice tour in North America, but shows in Toronto, Washington, DC, and New York have been canceled.

“It’s from this virus that targets the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves, paralyzing my face,” he explained.

“This eye isn’t blinking, as you can see. On this side of my face, I’m unable to grin. This nose will not move, therefore this side of my face is completely paralyzed.”

He attempts to grin, blink, and move his face in the three-minute video, but sections of his face do not respond. To recuperate, he stated he had been performing face workouts.

Justice, Bieber’s most recent album, was certified platinum in the United States and reached number two on the UK album charts. His global tour’s North American leg is set to wrap up in July.

“For individuals who are disappointed by my cancellations of the upcoming events, I’m just physically not able to do them,” he explained. “As you can see, this is a terrible situation.”

“I wish this weren’t the case, but my body is clearly telling me I need to slow down.”

“I hope you understand, and I’ll be taking this time to rest and relax, so I can return back to doing what I was created to do.” But, for the time being, this isn’t it.

“We don’t know how much longer we have, but it’ll be fine; I have hope and confidence in God.” I’m sure there’s a reason for everything. I’m not sure what it is right now, but I’m going to relax in the meanwhile.”
