Australian cricketers make an appeal in response to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka.

Touring Cricketers from Australia have joined a humanitarian relief drive for Sri Lanka, which is now experiencing a severe economic crisis.

Today, the cricketers joined forces with the UN team in Sri Lanka and non-governmental organizations to develop a combined Humanitarian Needs and Priorities (HNP) Plan.

The initiative aims for $47.2 million in humanitarian relief to be sent to Sri Lanka over the course of four months, from June to September.

Australian cricketers Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc sent out a video message to raise awareness of Sri Lanka’s economic situation.
